As specified in the Aggregate Resources Act, written notice concerning this application was delivered to landowners within 120 metres of the proposed licensed boundary; several information signs, giving notice to the public of this application, were erected at various locations on the proposed site; and a Notice of Application appeared in these local papers: the Shelburne Free Press and Economist, the Orangeville Citizen and the Orangeville Banner on March 10, 2011. A public information session will be held on April 12, 2011 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Horning’s Mills Community Hall, 14 Mill Street, Horning’s Mills.
The application for this proposal is being circulated within the MNR Midhurst District and Huronia Area offices. Additionally, notification of this application has been forwarded to the Township of Melancthon and the County of Dufferin. Other ministries and agencies circulated with the application for review and comment include; the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Transportation, the Township of Mulmur, the Town of Shelburne, the Niagara Escarpment Commission, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and the Grand River Conservation Authority.
